Bikes

I found a new project! It's not that I have plenty of free time with my job and applying, boy scouts chairmanship, music and so on, but I got a 10 year old Kawasaki 550 Zephyr from my friend Aernout. But he didn't give it away for nothing: loads of oil were coming out of the engine and the front fork, and loads of other things are to be repaired. So this bike is a real challenge to get it on the road again. Fortunately, my father does have plenty of time and technical experience, so here you see the start of a restoration project! I hope to be able to drive the Kawa this winter, when the Moto Guzzi gets it's winter sleep because of the dirty, salty streets...

Here's my dad working on the Kawa this morning. And here are the Moto Guzzi California 1100 together with my dad's BMW R75/6 in South-East Germany in August, on my way to Munich to visit Torsten and Ulli, and after that to Vienna, to visit Lisa. In one week, I drove 3500kms by bike! With Ulli, Torsten and friends Olli and Öse, we flew over the Alps in a small plane and we visited Munich (the pic below shows our Weisswurstfrühstück). Together with Lisa I drove a three day Austria tour by motorbike (pic of Lisa at a lake in the Salzkammergut - since it is at dawn, it's a bit dark but still very nice...).
